Victor Lombardi

Designer. Author. Model.

Victor Lombardi is a software designer with over 30 years of experience in a broad array of companies and industries. Since 2013 he has served as a product strategist at Cake & Arrow, a digital agency, specializing in making large, complex financial systems easier and more productive.

His passion for addressing climate change led to a collaboration from 2022 to 2025 with Climate Central. There, he created dynamic maps to visualize their original science on weather attribution, illustrating where and how climate change causes heatwaves and hurricanes. In 2025, he began original research on improving home energy management systems.

In 2013, Lombardi wrote the book, Why We Fail: Learning from Experience Design Failures which examines common pitfalls in UX design and offers practical advice on avoiding them.

In 2024, Ostwesting Street Casting in Berlin signed Lombardi as a commercial model.

Lombardi completed undergraduate studies in journalism at Rutgers University and earned a master’s degree in music technology from New York University. He has taught courses at Rutgers University, The Parsons School of Design, and the Pratt Institute, and serves as an advisor to tech startups. In 2002 he won a Webby award for work with the Southern Poverty Law Center. After living the first half of his life in New York, he now resides in Hamburg, Germany, and has learned to enjoy cycling in the rain.
